More on Internet Coffee Makers

In Irreproachable Honourableness: What we all need, I posted about Stephen Dulaney's web-addressable coffee maker. While reading Eric Raymond's Art of Unix Programming, I found a reference to an Internet RFC in his discussion of textuality in Application Protocols. The RFC describes
